Sunny days at the beach

I love this weather!!!!!!
My sister and daughter Maia brought Grandma to visit on Wednesday so we packed our things and set off for the beach, the children had a fab time rolling down the sand dunes and splashing in the sea. I feel so lucky to have such a lovely stretch of beach practically on our doorstep.
Some pici's from the day.......

Prom Night

I had a really lovely photoshoot last night for a sixteen year old girls prom night.
How exciting! to have a prom to celebrate the end of secondary school. Aless looked stunning! her hair was in the style of Audrey Hepburn and her dress was one of the most beautiful I have seen, she looked so pretty.
The family made me feel very welcome and every effort had been made to make this night a special one. Thankyou Jill for inviting me to photograph this special occasion and I look forward to seeing you soon

Fathers day

Fathers day has turned into an anual trip to Scorton steam rally, it's a good family day out that we have attended three years running. This year wasn' t a let down and the Monster trucks and lawnmower racing proved a hit once again with Andy and Finlay (also Abbie and I but don't tell anyone)

"Squash em!"

"Give us a kiss!"

Studley castle

I recently went on a couple of days photographic training at Studley castle which is near Stratford Upon Avon. It's such a beautiful part of England and despite what threatened to be a dull two days turned out to be lovey. There were many inspiring photographers including Drew Gardener, Adrian Weinbrecht and Mike Larson (destination wedding photographer) the event was hosted by The Flash Centre and training included photography, buisness skills, marketing, dealing with clients, posing your models and sunbounce reflectors.

Studley castle: accomodation for two days. Lovely, lovely, lovely!

Above: Adrian Weinbrecht.
Not only a very funny man but an extremely tallented, creative photographer. I chatted to him for a long time picking his brains for anything he could teach me. Watch this space as I intent to try something in the style of his photography soon.

I was particularly impressed with the sunbounce products and even though they are quite expensive I have invested in a zebra micro as it adds such beautiful fill in light for any portrait and I'm sure will enhance any photograph I take in the future.
Mike Larson was a delight to listen too, he is so passionate about photography and people- as I am and he shared lots of useful tips to add to buisness practice.
I took a selection of shots which I have added to this blog which (trying a get a dfferent angle or perspective on things) proved to be a creative experience in itself. I stood on the largest ant hills I have ever seen, shot through the tiniest gaps in trees and photographed into the sun for an intersting perspective.

Family day out in the Lake District

I adore the Lake District! when I was growing up my Grandparents had a static caravan on a lovely site near Milnthorpe, as I spent most of my childhood years with my lovely Grandma and Grandad most weekends and holidays were spent exploring the Lakes. We went walking, had picnics and visited friends. Still a big part of my life, I now enjoy family days out with my husband, two children Abbie and Finlay and now our new edition Marley (our fourteen week old Lhasa Apso puppy) he recently had his immunisations which means we can now introduce him to the big wide world, naturally we went to the Lakes. Marley was brilliant and walked so well, staying by our side all of the time we were out, we even let him off the lead to give him his own freedom. He chased Abbie and Finlay round and was fussed over by almost all passers by.
below are some of my pici's from the day..........

Wedding in Liverpool

I was honored to be invited to photograph the wedding of John and Cathy earlier this month in Liverpool. The cermony took place at Birkenhead town hall followed by the reception on the Royal Daffodil on the river Mersey, what a fabulous wedding venue!
The weather was perfect, hot and sunny and the newly weds and guests seemed to have a wonderful time.
Here are a selection of images from the day.......

I even got to meet the captain and drive the boat myself!
